When our branch of the Wilsons
get together good times galore prevail. So it was in
Franklin, TN this month.
When the stragglers arrived there were 18 of us
together. We
sorely missed those who were not there but it didn’t
dampen the abundant affection that freely flowed.
Our primary “together” meal was
held at Shoney’s restaurant next door to our Best
Western motel. We
were hosted in style by the friendly staff there.
Various ones scattered to
points of interest in/around Nashville Friday and
Saturday. Several
joined Donny (Sonny) Barton and his sister, Sue Thomas,
in visiting the McGavock Confederate Cemetery near
Franklin where they toured the buildings and grounds and
located the grave site of their great great grandfather,
Samuel C. Kennedy, who died in the Civil War.
As usual most of our time was
spent just enjoying each other’s company and catching up
on family happenings.
We picked each other’s memories of extended
family not present as best we could.
With some reluctance we decided
to go to a 2-year schedule for future reunions with the
next to be held in June 2020 in Baltimore, MD and
coordinated by cousin Madelyn Ball.
To members of our extended
family who have been unable to join with us in recent
years we relish keeping in touch with you in person or
electronically .
Family matters and as we age
they matter a lot.
